Welcome to the website for the Central Region of the Caravan and Motorhome Club.

Here you will find information about all of the activities being held or organised within this Region.

This includes Certified Locations or Club sites, and also links to the 10 Centres within our region, giving more information of rallies and events for this season.

Centre events are an excellent way to meet like minded people and make new friends. Or maybe you are looking for more specific details regarding events you have heard are being held.

Finally, if you have any questions regarding the Caravan and Motorhome Club, in particular the Central Region, please do not hesitate to contact me or one of the officers via the contact links in this website.

Caravan and Motorhome Club Singers

The Caravan and Motorhome Club are looking for a new Accompanist/Pianist.

The choir was formed 15 years ago and consists of members of the Club who like to cobine their hobby of caravanning and motorhoming with their passion for singing.

The group consists of about 70 people, mainly husband and wife, who meet up 5 or 6 times a year and hold weekend rehersal rallies, with a view to performing concerts for Club events.

Because members come from all parts of the UK, rallies are held mainly in the Midlands area, Leicestershire, Staffordshire and Warwickshire.

Our current Accompanist is stepping down at the end of September and we are looking to recruit an experienced accompanist as soon as possible who has a caravan or motorhome.

Do you have a Centre Treasurer that requires assistance?

If so please contact:

Kniveton is a pretty, grey stone village, sheltered in a deep hollow on the slope of Madge Hill. €‹ Most people simply pass through Kniveton, on their way to Carsington Water but it is worth a look if only for its charming little church. The church consists only of a nave, chancel and a tower. The tower, built in the 13th century, is unbuttressed and contains small lancet windows, battlements and a short spire. The medieval glass in the chancel depicts the arms of the family Kniveton. It was Lady Kniveton who gave the altar its lovely flagon and chalice in 1572. However, Sir Andrew Kniveton became so impoverished through his loyalty to Charles the First that he had to sell most of the family estates. The church also contains a 13th century font. An ancient yew guards the doorway to the church and still bears the grooves worn when the archers were sharpening their arrows. €‹ Just north of the village is the Bronze Age burial mound at Wigber Low which has revealed some important remains from the village`s past. The village has two pubs called The Ketch and The Red Lion.
